How Do I Get Involved?
One of the marks of millions of believers worldwide today is a hunger to simply grow up in Jesus. Rather than just joining a church and going through the motions, the desire of our hearts is, more than anything, to grow to look like Jesus.
To get involved in the Vineyard is to get involved in growth, change and relationships! The following three simple disciplines will promote your growth in Jesus first, and then in the Vineyard as well.
1. Sunday Celebrations:
Hebrews 13:1"We come together to celebrate God's goodness and faithfulness."
We need upbuilding, encouragement, teaching, the opportunity to give of our resources and a sense of God's dynamic presence in our midst as we come before Him.
2. Finding a Ministry/Getting Drafted
Matt.28: 18-20"We don't have a membership - we have a ministry team."
We must function in a ministry of some sort whether it is with people, paper or things. We all need an opportunity to give away, to lay our lives down. To simply receive and not give in the Christian life will result in a theoretical walk and a people full of information but lacking in practical reality. We must, therefore, lay our lives down as Jesus, in serving others in an on-going ministry of some sort. We encourage you to become involved in a ministry that is existing, or to find a need and fill it by beginning a ministry yourself.
3. Home Groups/Relationships:
Acts 2:46"This is a safe place to be."
Redemptive relationships allow us to know one another deeply and to be known by others. The Christian life is lived out with people. What we receive from the Lord is always matured, tested and developed in the context of people, like you, in the Body of Christ.
"As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world." (John 17:18)
